What’s a Celebration without Cake?!
It’s my book anniversary and What’s a celebration without cake? A year ago, I did something that I always dreamed of, publishing a book. It took a whole lot of discipline to write and it took even more of a push to publish this book! Gratitude to my ancestors for that push and deep love to my community for reading and uplifting this work! I sincerely wouldn’t have been able to birth this book without the support of my family, my elders and my community. Our work continues! St


The Question That Changed Everything for Me
A few months ago, a mother looked me in the eyes and asked: "How do I talk to my son who's been detained? How do I forgive the people that allowed this? How do we heal from this?" I didn't have a perfect answer. But I had something else—a practice that's been saving my own community for years.
